John Poswillo bought E.J. Hodren's aerated water factory at Nelson Street, Petone in 1897. Poswillo moved his manufactory to Hutt Road in Petone in 1902, then on to 60a Fitzherbert Street Petone in 1903.

Poswillo sold his business to Henry Davies in 1905 and shifted to Blenheim, where he established an aerated water factory.
