Philip Barry

1899 - 1904
Philip Barry moved to Wellington from Gisborne, where he operated an aerated water factory in Gladstone Road.

bottle pic bottle pic Upon arrival in Wellington he purchased Strike, McLellan & Kroupa's aerated water factory at 144-146 Adelaide Road and on 26th July 1899 Philip Barry of "Diamond Jubilee Aerated-Water Factory" made an application for the compass trademark. This application was accepted and Barry remained in business until 1904, at which time he sold the company to Smith Brothers, who traded under Philip Barry's name until 1905.
