Knox & Co.

1907 - 1908
Mr. Henry Knox was born in Kent, England and arrived on the 'Zealandia' in 1871. Upon his arrival in New Zealand, he spent three years in the confectionery business, working for Messrs. R.R. Murray of Dunedin. Following this period of employment he shifted to the North Island and managed the Otaki branch of Thomson Lewis & Co., for a time then in 1907 before moving south to Wellington, where he established his own aerated water manufactory.

Interestingly, most Knox & Co. bottles (6oz and 10oz Codd patents) have been have been found in Wanganui. Three 10oz Codd patents bottles were discovered there in 1988.
