E. J. Hodren
1895 - 1897
Edwin John Hodren established his cordial factory in Ryan Street, Petone in 1895 and moved to Nelson Street, Petone in 1896.
In 1897 Edwin decided to move his business to Wanganui, where his father operated a well-known aerated water business.
Hodren made use of just one marked bottle, an all-white dumpy ginger beer which is somewhat unusual as it features a different transfer on the front and rear of the bottle. These bottles are difficult to find in good condition.
Hodren's Petone-based company was taken over by John Poswillo in 1897.
