Farrow Fountain Aerated Water Co.
1896 - 1902
First recent evidence of this company came to light in November 1975 when a broken 6oz Codd patent (marble bottle) was found in Hopper Street, Wellington after a shed was demolished.
Farrow Fountain's crossed arrow trademark was registered on 30 March 1897 under proprietors Bowley Joyce, Alfred Brake and Robert McCoy. (The trade mark was applied for on 26th October 1896) and the company address was Eva Street, a small side street off Dixon Street.
Farrow Fountain Aerated Water Co. exhibited in the Wellington Exhibition of 1897 - in fact the Exhibition may have been the catalyst for the formation of the company.
Interestingly, the 'G' in 'Wellington' on the broken Farrow Fountain bottle is reversed.
